Most of the below still applies...

So I realized its been almost a month since I last posted...but I've also just realized that I'm still feeling most of the stuff I was whining about before. I'm still sick - It's been a month! The cold or whatever it is has just moved around my chest/head to different areas. Right now its a stuffy nose and a cough and still a small trace of a sore throat. I'm going to the doctor again tomorrow, get me some medicine, see if its more than a cold. I'm also still working on my grad school applications. I've got pretty much everything done except what I've been procrastinating the most, my personal statements. I haven't been in school mode for such a long time and I hated writing papers when I was in school...but I just need to get them written. Actually, I'm procrastinating right now. But I'm hoping I get them all done by December 30th and then...

I'M GOING TO BALI!!!!!

Yup, for 8 days with Sarah L and some of her co-workers. I'm so excited, but I've been so caught up with apps and work that I haven't had time to look up what I want to do while I'm there. Right now, I'm just picturing beautiful beaches and non-cold weather. yaaaay!

I can't believe it's already December and Christmas is just a week away. Eeek I need to do some Christmas shopping! But, I did get go out and get myself a pretty little fake tree that I decorated and everything! Here's a picture of it all lit up:

How the heck do I make pictures go vertically on blogger? Anyone have any tips? Just turn your head. Isn't it purrty? All lit up and ready for Sarah L to come for Christmas :)

Ok, so lots has happened since I last posted. One thing is I ended a term and started a new one at work. My new kids are for the most part good, I have one class of kid geniuses and one class of punks who suck pretty bad at English. The two classes are the same level, but the geniuses are like four years younger than the punks. We'll see how it progresses. Anyways, last term, I had three students names Brian in three separate classes. The classes were one after another, and they progressed in level an in age. This is the first Brian:

Brian #1: Let's Go 2, super cute, smart, well-behaved, glasses, and named Brian.

Brian #2: Let's Go 4, cute, smart, well-behaved, glasses, and named Brian.

Brian #3 (on the left): Let's Go 5, cute, smart, well-behaved, glasses, and named Brian.

Isn't that weird? They all have similar face shapes, the same hair cut, wear glasses, and have similar dispositions. By the end of the term, I could remember all my students faces when I had to write comments on them, but the three Brians would just be too much for me and I could never remember what Brian #2 looked like, or I would mix them up while I was writing about them. This term, I have 2 Kevins, 2 Julias, 2 Brians, 2 Hannas, and 2 Sarahs! But no more multiples than that. Some of the more interesting names I have are Colly, Annerliese, Liam, and Anderson. Since the students have their actual names that are Korean, some of them pick some really odd English names, or change them pretty often. I've started an informal name hall of fame at my school, which I'll definitely post once I've surveyed all the teachers...here's a sneak peak: a boy named Foxie. awesomeness.

oh man, feel better, sarah. do they have nyquil over there? Also, scarves. Scarves are key, my friend. I didn't come to terms with this until recently, even after living in the arctic for 7 years. You knit those, so you must wear them, right?
