Its febRuary!
Does anyone else ever do this? Whenever I type words that have silent letters in them like February or Wednesday, I always pronounce the letter as I'm spelling it. Wed-nes-day. I already know I'm strange.
It's already February and I'm starting to get sick of the winter clothes. When I lived in Evanston I always started to get seriously sick of constantly having to wear multiple layers and thick coats and sweaters and closed toed shoes by the end of winter, and it was like I was being set free the first time I could step outside in flip flops without freezing my toesies off. Its obviously not as bad here in California, and if I didn't mind cold toes I could totally wear flip flops everyday, but I chose not to because cold feet are not comfortable. I think an extra thing that factors into it is that I'm sick of wearing work clothes too. I'm a lover of casual clothes, and this whole dressing up everyday is a pain in the booty. And its pretty much all I can buy too because I wear casual clothes all of one, maybe two days a week. Once its warmer I feel like I can mix it up a little. In general, I also like spring/summer better I guess. Ok, enough whining.
So I'm definitely going to Denver in early March to visit the Wilczak, and lillo is going to be there for her spring break too. looking forward to some Colorado fun and meeting all of sarah's roommates, and a little break from work. Okay, a little more complaining - you know what sucks? The lack of vacations when you work. I get two weeks of vacation a year plus two personal days and a floating holiday - but I have to accrue the vacation time. AND I'm technically not allowed to take any of the time off during my first 180 days, but apparently people can get around that. Sooo basically, that trip to Korea I wanted to take in the summer? I can only go if i only stay for a week, and that just is not enough time when you're going back to the motherland for the first time since you were 7. Who knows, maybe I'll find some way to do it anyways.
awesomeness of the week:
On this past Sunday's episode of Grey's Anatomy, we find out that one of the main characters, Izzie, had a baby when she was 16 that she put up for adoption so she could have a better life. She tells this to a teenage girl who is pregnant, and we find out that the baby was given the name Hannah by her adoptive parents. Later in the show, the teenage girl asks Izzie if she had given her baby her own name, and Izzie says that yes, she named her Sarah.
heeheeheehee...I was watching the show with Hannah and when she said the name, we just looked at each other with wide eyes and then started busting out laughing. yes, our names are awesome, what an awesome coincidence. now we are forever connected to Izzie. Oh, and best news of the week, the first season of Grey's Anatomy comes out on DVD on Feb 14th! Faaaabulous!
I'm going to watch the Cirque de Soleil show "Corteo" tomorrow in San Jose...yay, I'm excited 'cause I hear its good. I know its not a conventional circus, but I still really hope there aren't any actual clowns there. clowns are freaky. FREAKY NASTY (i just watched Dodgeball). thanks gail for the discounted ticket.
