Ahhhh my stomach is painfully full, I haven't done anything but cook, eat, open presents, and play with presents all while in my pj's. It must be Christmas! heeeheeee.
MERRY CHRISTMAS party people!!
Its been a nice couple of days, on Friday I had a half day at work and spent the rest of the day doing some last minute shopping and errands. Did a little karaoke-ing on Friday night with Sarah L, Jon, Carmen, and Gordo - I don't know what got into me, but I was totally just hogging the microphone and going all out. My favorite songs to sing karaoke are Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and anything off of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill album. So angsty and belt-tastic! "You Oughta Know" is especially fun. I'm not an especially angry or bitter person, but man, those songs are great for Karaoke. And I love having friends back in town to do fun things with and to sit with for hours over coffee talking about any and everything :)
This Christmas its just my parents, me, and Hannah at home, but we're driving down to LA at the end of this week for a couple of days for baby Eric's first birthday so we'll see my bro and Jo then. Apparently he's stopped crawling entirely and is just walking around now! I can't wait to see it! This morning was low-key, we did have our traditional Christmas meal - ham, scalloped potatoes, stuffing, etc, and we opened the smallish pile of presents under the tree. Small, but highly satisfying:
- Julie & Julia by Julie Powell from my Women's group secret santa, Linette
- A $50 gift card to Banana Republic from the nicest group of familes at my church, pretty much for no other reason besides the fact that they're awesome.
- The FRIENDS Scene It! game from Hannah! I'm so gonna be awesome at this game.
- Socks and a Costco giftcard from Mom and Dad. Tried and true regulars. It wouldn't be Christmas if these weren't under the tree.
- An iHome speakers/alarm clock from my parents for my ipod :) I actually got one for my sister for Christmas too and told my Mom that I planned on getting one for myself after Christmas - and so she got one for me! I was totally surprised and started cracking up when I opened mine. Sneaky mommy!
Tomorrow I'm going to Santa Cruz for my church's young adult retreat, and on Friday morning I'm leaving for LA and the driving back up on New Year's Eve to celebrate in SF. Not a lot of actual down-time for my week off, but it should be good times. Hope you're staying warm wherever you are and are with people you love! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!!
