Krazy Korean Kids

Pictures of my first term kids! I came in half way through the term so I only had them for a month and a half, but I won't forget them, they were the ones who broke me in :)

They may look cute but they were known to drive someone named Sarah a little bit crazier every day...

Jee-Young and Cindy, cutie pies (flashing the universal sign for asian).

Mark, who showed up to class one day with a perm!! He's trying to hide from the camera.

My Let'sGo3 class: Cindy, Jee-Young, David, Mark, and James. They really didn't want to pose for this picture. These boys liked drumming out cadences on the desks with their pencils, which is unfortunately a favorite past time of a lot of the boys here that age. Let me tell you, no better way to piss off your teacher!

Me and the girls

David and Jack from my LetsGo2 class. Ohhh man, half of this class drove me up the wall and half of them were the cutest little things. Jack (in blue) contributed a whoooole lot to the drive Sarah crazy team.

Vicky, Maggy, and Cindy - the cute ones and good students to boot. So smart! But their parents are a little intense...

Secondary Level class: Rachel, Cindy, Emily, Joshua, Ally, Amy, and Sandy. We made nicknames for each other one day: Rachel = Rich Gold (the name of a pizza at Pizza Hut), Cindy = Candy, Emily = M&M, Joshua - Juicy, Ally = Ali baba, Amy = Yummy, and Sandy = Sandwich. Mine was "Sae Tak," which is dry cleaners in Korean. Apparently "Sarah" sounds like "Sae Tak." These kids were awesome.

My Triumph class: Ella, Emily, James, and John. Two E's and two J's, the boys always mixed me up.

Secondary Level class, aka "The Punk class": Katie, Sarah, John, Jessica, Anna, and Katie. They are notorious at the school for being literally, the worst class. And guess who got stuck with them? Yeah, me. Apparently the teacher I took over for was really happy to be rid of them. They are just in that attitude-all-the-time, don't give a crap, never listen or shut up adolescent phase. The only way to get anything done in the class was to be a total bitch. Which I hated being, but it had to be done! Ahh, I admit there were one or two good students in the group and some of them were really funny, but really, I'm just glad I don't have to teach them anymore.

Now I have five new classes and a new set of troublemakers and cuties. And also two private tutoring kids through the school. I also agreed to tutor my cousin's 15 year old kid on Saturdays which should be interesting...I think we're going to read Harry Potter 7 together, since she's really into the series but it hasn't come out in Korean yet. I've already read it 3 times...yes I know, I'm a nerd.

I got my haircut today! It was super long and getting annoying so I chopped a lot off, but it's actually not that short when I look at it again. It only cost 20,000 won! (about $22) This is how the hairstylist blew it out, so we'll see what it looks like when I'm the one who has to do something with it...

hello internets!
