Lots going on on April 18th

So apparently, a lot of stuff has happened on April 18th.

1) April 18th is the anniversary of the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906, made an even bigger deal this year because it is the 100th anniversary. I remember the 1989 earthquake vaguely, and the last earthquake I felt was a pretty small one two summers ago in the early morning. When I was out of state, many people asked me what an earthquake feels like. Basically, it feels like the earth is moving - really no other way to describe it.

2) April 18th is my parents wedding anniversary, and this year is their 30th! Congrats Mom and Dad! They're never going to read this. The other day, my Dad asked me what blog was. I don't really think he got it. Tonight my sister, cousin and I are taking my parents out for dinner. We wanted to take them somwhere nice, but really - this is my parents. They decided on a Jeon Ju-style Bibimbap restaurant that they've heard about. It's probably going to be some kind of hole in the wall restaurant - but hey, its what they want so not arguing.

3) On my facebook birthday alerts, I apparently have 5 friends who have birthdays on April 18th, and all from the same year. I looked at the list and I wouldn't necessarily count any of them as close friends, but more like acquaintances. I can barely remember to call my close friends on their birthdays, so they're not getting anything that special, but I guess I can give them a blog shoutout. So Jason, Kwadwo, Georgina, Jessie, and Mira - happy 23rd birthday!

time for some bibimbap
