TUUUUUURKEY

Only 1.5 hours until I get to go home, possibly 1 hour if i decide to sneak out early!!! Hooray Thanksgiving :) Yesterday at work we had a Thanksgiving lunch, and I ended up being one of the judges for the dessert making contest. I didn't have enough time on Monday to make anything, so I didn't enter the contest. The Bailey's chocolate cake won first place, and I thought it was delicious! Yesterday I also got a 12 pound turkey from work! They gave everyone free turkeys, which is pretty cool. My family already has a 15 pounder for out Thanksgiving dinner, but my Mom is going to cook the 12 pound turkey for a potluck at her work. They gave it to us frozen, and that sucker was heavy.

Tomorrow, my brother and sister in law, two cousins and one cousin in law, and baby Min Hyuk are driving up from LA for Thanksgiving at our house. Apparently Min Hyuk started walking, and he's not even one yet!! I can't wait to see all of them. For dinner tomorrow, I'm in charge of the cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and appetizers to eat during the day, pre-feast. Oh! and I have to make pumpkin pies tonight. Did I mention I love Thanksgiving?? I also need to check out the sale papers for the after-Thanksgiving sales. I think I might actually try to brave the crowds this year and go shopping on Friday or Saturday...pray for me. Also looking forward to seeing a whole bunch of friends who are in town for the weekend. We might go into the city one night and go out, fun times :)

And since I guess this is my Thanksgiving post, here's a short list of some random things I'm thankful for.

- Beard Papa's cream puffs
- the cute babies and toddlers at my church - they never fail to bring a smile to my face.
- my big, comfy queen sized bed
- opposable thumbs (without which I would never have been able to learn how to knit or crochet.)
- my big, loud, and super fun extended family
- cousins who have lived with my family for extended periods of time and are more like siblings. I have another older sister and finally, a younger brother that I can boss around and torture.
- chocolate from Paris (yummy, eating it as I type)
- nice bosses who bring me back chocolate from Paris and cream puffs from the new Beard Papas in Redwood City.

Just a couple off the top of my head, and not even the tip of the iceberg :) Hope everyone has a foodtastic Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, stuffing, and naps!

Jane and I made 7 dishes of green bean casserole. And we got into a tiff over whether we should buy cranberry relish from Costco. I predicted it would be tasty, but she didn't want to take the food-risk because we were going to lose face in front of others. I insisted we buy some, and it was delicious. Thanksgiving is the best!
