Hannah and I were going to drive down to LA for the long President's Day weekend, but Hannah had a lot of work to catch up on and it just sounded like a lot of effort so we decided not to go. Instead, I spent a blissfully un-busy weekend doing not too much of anything. What did I do on Friday night? I don't remember. Let's see, Saturday - talk about a perfect case of your mood being influenced by the weather. I woke up and went to the gym - and discovered that it was a GORGEOUS sunny, clear, breezy, perfect day out. It made me so frikin' happy. I went to the gym and ran almost 3 miles, even though I knew that Adria and I had plans to go hiking in the afternoon. We ended up going hiking at Rancho San Antonio in Los Altos for about two hours. The roughly 5-mile hike took us high enough that we could see downtown SF, Oakland, San Jose, Stanford, Moffett Field, and a teeny tiny Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. Pretty much the whole Bay Area. It was a clear day, I tell you. I was in shorts and a tank top! 75 degrees! Just wanted to rub it in a little more for my midwest/east coast friends.
After the hike, we got some frappuccinos, went to a used bookstore in downtown Campbell, and got fixin's for dinner. Adria made some tasty turkey burgers, which we washed down with some nice Trader Joe's Hefeweizen beer, and then we watched America's Sweethearts on TV after a failed attempt to rent The Departed at Blockbuster. Then I went home and watched my Netflix Pirates of the Caribbean: I Don't Remember on my crappy crappy DVD player that pauses sporatically throughout the movie and plays and stops of its own volition. Its maddening. I need to get a new DVD player or this one is going to end up getting thrown out my window. Conclusion: pretty fantastic day with an excess of exercise and food.
Sunday was church, gym, and hanging out with the fam to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Monday was laundry, errands, and some shopping. I got My Name is Earl Season 1 at Target for $20, which I'm looking forward to watching - the show is seriously funny, and the new Lily Allen cd (the second track on the cd is hilarious). my weekend, the end.
