Early post...

I usually post everyday (except weekends - a girls gotta have a break!) at around 3pm, when there's usually realllly nothing to do at work, and I've built up an interesting enough day to write about. But today, I'm posting at 1, two hours early because...I'm leaving work two hours early today!! yaaaaaayaaaaay. Gotta get my butt home to do some last minute packing, then my Dad's taking me to Oakland airport for my 6:45 flight to Chicaaaago.

Speaking of Chicago, the White Sox won the World Series!! I realized last night as I was packing and during the ninth inning of the game, that I was going to be in a city that hasn't seen a World Series victory in 88 years, and that there probably is going to be some kind of crazy celebration or something. And I checked the papers today, and yeah, there's going to be a parade and rally on Friday -the day I'm planning on spending downtown shopping and lunchin' and wandering. hahah, this should be interesting...I'm kinda curious, but I don't know if I'm curious enough to brave the crowds. Eh, I also don't think I care enough. Now, if it were the Giants....

Man, there's nothing like watching grown men jump up and down in excitement like kids in a candy store. Looking at pictures of the White Sox players and their fans - watching the players cracks me up, but man, when I see the fans...I just get JEALOUS. Okay, so first the Red Sox broke their streak and now the White Sox have broken their losing streak. The Giants haven't won a World Series since 1954, when we were still the New York Giants. I think only the Cubs and the Indians have gone longer without a win. What I think is more depressing is the fact that the Giants have reached the World Series more times than both the Cubs and Indians combined, but haven't been able to pull out a win. so sad, makes me so sad. If we won, I would be right up front with my face painted for the parade!!! NEXT YEAR!!!

One cool thing abou the game yesterday: legendary Giant Juan Marichal threw out the first pitch with a SF Giants hat on - yeahhh Giants!

Also, one last thing about the Giants - So SBC is apparently about to close a deal on buying AT&T, and they say that they plan on taking AT&T as its name because it is more well known...now does that mean that they're going to change the name of the Giants' park AGAIN!?!! First it was PacBell Park, which I loved, then it was SBC Park, which I've reluctantly accepted, and now - AT&T Park???? This is getting ridiculous - they'll have to change the signs everywhere AGAIN. stoopid people.

Be back on Monday!!!!
