Fooooood

I love food. So, so much.

That's why the list of things I'm going miss and the things that I'm looking forward to in terms of food is pretty long. There are so many things that are freakin' amazing about Korean food, but at the same time when it comes to other kinds of food in Korea, it's pretty sparse. And that's where American food comes in! Or at least, food that you can get in America. Forget "American" meatloaf and potatoes - I'm talking about going for Indian food on Monday, Tapas on Tuesday, Afghani food on Wednesday, Mexican on Thursday, Cajun on Friday, Burgers and Fries on Saturday, and of course dduk gook on Sunday. Best o' the whole world!

Things I'll miss about food in Korea:
- Street food! Chicken skewers, dduk bok kee, fried veggies and seafood, ho dduk, hodu gwa ja, the list goes on an on, and none for more than $2!
- All night boon shik restaurants that are the Korean version of fast food, and so delicous.
- Ddalk gal be. Delicious spicy chicken/cabbage/sweet potato/onion mixture that is cooked in front of you - pretty much one of the only Korean foods that I've never had in the US.
- All the standards are just so delicious - bibimbop, naeng myun, bo ssam, soon dubu, bbq - and it's cheap!
- NO TAX OR TIPPING!!! If your meal is $5, you pay $5! It's utterly fantastic.

Things I'm looking forward to:
- More and better international food - Indian, Thai, Middle eastern of all kinds, Mexican, Spanish, etc.
- Chipotle
- Inn n Out
- Big salads and salad bars (Fresh Choice!)
- Cheaper fruit and more variety of fruit, especially in California. One time I saw a pack of about 15 cherries here that cost about...$8. Ridiculous!
- Cheaper beef! (even if it does make me Craaaaazzzyyy!!)
- Burgers, fries, steak, ribs, and other typical "American" food that is good, but not ridiculously overpriced. A dish at TGI Fridays costs about an average of 25 bucks here! Ridiculous!
- Momma Yu's home cookin'. Everything she makes they have here, but it's just not the same! She's already told me that she bought Korean ribs to make for me when I come back, and that the cucumbers and lettuce in the garden are waiting for me to eat them! Aww, I love my Mom. I'm going to get fat when I come home.
