Is it just me?

Or am I the only one sweating?

Korea is a pretty good example of a four-season country, with cool and crisp falls, cold and snowy winters, warm and sometime rainy springs, and hot summers.

HOT HOT summers. With rainy monsoons, daily humidity, and sun that melts your face off. So far, this summer has been pretty mild with not a lot of rain and humidity, but overcast skies that block out the melting sun. Until two days ago. The last two days have been hothothot, clear skies with an intense sun and of course, my favorite, the humidity. My alter ego has pushed her way out - lovingly named Sticky Sarah by my siblings. When I was a kid, I was notorious for being hot and sweaty and sticky about five minutes into a trip to Disneyland, at 9 am in the morning.

Whenever I walk anywhere in this weather, I find myself sweating profusely and pretty much dripping by the time I get to my destination, be it 5 or 15 minutes away. Since this is the third straight summer that I've spent time in Korea, I have a couple of things that I always make sure that I have with me: a hand fan, a handkerchief, and a hair tie. Yesterday I was standing outside waiting for a bus, fanning myself and wiping the sweat off when I looked around and realized that no one else seemed to be as affected by the heat as I was. Everyone seemed to be calmly strolling down the street, maybe a bit dewy and pink, but nothing like me. I felt like such a sweaty beast! Or, as my Scottish friend Lynne says, a "sweaty Betty." Those British people and their rhymes. But seriously, the sweating is excessive and kinda embarrassing. I'm sure you're all familiar with my nose sweat bubbles? It just drips off the nose! ughhh.

I'm going to miss: The gorgeous fall colors and amazing foliage

I'm looking forward to: Non-humid California weather, cool summer nights, and not having to own a winter coat again.

Oh your sweat nose! I love it. Don't go throwing out your winter coat yet. I will most likely always live in a climate with winter - and you should always plan on visiting!
