I need to join a gym
I ate a lot this weekend. Feelin' a little on the heavy side, but that could also be 'cause I'm wearing annoying pants. But probably more because I ate like a piggie this weekend. A couple of slices of pizza, a Rojo's wrap, a lotta chocolate fondue, turkey dinner, sushi, pumpkin pie, cheese fondue, calamari, creme brulee, chocolate cake and espresso ice cream, etc. Equals Sarah ate a lot of god food - but gotta go to the gym!
But of course the most important part of the weekend - I finally saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! We got to the theater about 1 1/2 hour before the movie began, and there was already a fairly long line. I was a little upset about this, but we soon realized that we were probably closer to the front than the middle or back of the line when lots and lots of people got in line behind us. We asked the people in the very front, and they'd been waiting since 3pm. For a 10:30 pm show. wow - even I have better things to do with my time. There were also a bunch of people dressed up in HP costumes. And I definitely didn't stand out in my scarf - I was with my people, my fellow nerds! Harry Potter rocks my socks.
the movie:
I thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely need to see it again for further analysis. Of course there were some disappointments in terms of what they had to change or cut from the book, and I have some beefs with how some things were explained (or not explained at all), but overall I think they did a good job of keeping the important parts in. I loved seeing the characters growing up and being all angsty-teenagery. I really think all of their acting has improved, especially Daniel Radcliffe, and of course I love Hermione and Ron as usual. Katie Leung has the cutest Scottish accent, the Weasley twins were hilarious as usual, and I think Victor Krum had maybe 1 1/2 lines - I don't think his English is very good. I don't want to give more away, and I think I'll need at least another viewing or two to be able to say whether I like it more or less than the third movie. One thing I did miss though, was the music - they changed the composer for this movie so the signature Harry Potter theme wasn't in it - you know which one I'm talking about, it was played throughout the first three movies, it sounds all magical and stuff. oh well.
supremely bored at work again - might have to start doing a crossword puzzle.
RENT comes out on Wednesday!!! I'm going with some fellow Rent heads on Wednesday night, its gonna be awesome. We also want to go again sometime later, in the middle of the week on an afternoon when no one else is there and do a sing along. How fun would that be, we'd just start belting the songs in the middle of the theater. yay Rent.
Oh yeah, and the weather here has been gorgeous. Like, 70's, sunny, breezy gorgeous. I'll have some pictures to share will you all next time...California is the place to be.
