Busy week

So since coming back from the three day weekend, my week has been pretty busy. After work this week, I've had something to do every night, and even though I'm out of dress socks I haven't had the time to do my laundry. Maybe later tonight. Tonight I'm going to volunteer at the hospital again from 7-9. Last week was my first week and I was scheduled from 9-11 pm - pretty sucky but the only time that was available for Thursday nights. But luckily when i got there there was a space from 7-9 that opened up so I switched. Last week I got to hold a 3-hour old baby and a 2-3 day old baby. Such tiny cuteness! If you didn't know, i love babies. Hopefully the nice nurse will be there again.

Today at work we got new phones and a whole new phone system. I went to a training for the system yesterday and I gotta say, its pretty cool. All these neat options and stuff - I'll probably never use half of them and forget what most of them are, but still - its cool. Unfortunately, my phone seems to be having some issues and I haven't succeeded in making an outside phone call yet. hmmm that may be a problem.

Last Friday I was backing out of my parking spot after work and I saw something that I haven't seen in a couple of months that just seemed completely out of place in this San Jose, CA parking lot. The bumper on the car next to me had the distinctive, always kind of weird and random looking to me - New Trier High School sticker on it. For my friends not familiar with the Chicago/Evanston area, New Trier is the infamous huge/rich/very well performing high school in the Wilmette/Winnetka area, a bit north of Evanston. From Wikipedia (with I think is super cool btw) : New Trier is "widely considered to be academically the best non-selective public high school in Illinois" If you go to Northwestern, you eventually learn to recognize the name because a good number of them end up at Northwestern, and its one of the two big high schools in the area (along with Evanston Township HS). Anyways, you see these stickers everywhere in the North Shore area - but this is the first time I've seen one out of that immediate area. I wonder what their story is - did they move here from Illinois recently, are they recent graduates or parents, or do they just have some hard core New Trier pride? The last one is actually not very far fetched. Those New Trier people like their school.

They're the New Trier Trevians - mascot is Trevius Maximus. What the crap is that???
