Movies

Today on a whim I decided to sign up for Netflicks. I've been going to Blockbuster more often lately, and I decided that the store not having the movie I want, waiting in long ass lines, the gas money to drive to the store, and $4 to rent a movie are pretty sucky. SO! I decided to try Netflicks...I should be getting my first movies in the mail tomorrow. How exciting - and its free for the first two weeks! :)

Last year a couple of my roommates and i decided that we were going to watch all the movies nominated for Best Picture before the Oscars. I'm thinking this year I want to do it again. I probably haven't even watched any of the movies that are going to be nominated...hopefully some of them will be out on video. Who wants to whatch them with me!?!? I love the Oscars, I'm such a nerd - I wanna throw an Oscar party this year. Basically, just an excuse to make/eat fun appetizers and drinks and look at pretty people cry. But none of the dressing up crap for my Oscar party - mine will be a SWEATS Oscar party, yeeeeeahhhhhh!

In other news, work is definitely picking up - I'm actually finding myself busy sometimes, shocking. Most of the work is interesting, though some of it is monotonous. And I think my bosses like me - basically because I'm doing things for them that they've had to do themselves previously. And I do it in an efficient and cheery manner :) Still lacking in the seeing people and making work friends area, but hopefully that'll change.

I'm currently reading "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac, and I gotta say, its kind of put my extracurricular reading in slow motion. I've been trying to finish it for the last...4 weeks or so, where previously I read a book in about a week and a half to two weeks. Its just hard because it doesn't have a conventional narrative, and its kind of goes everywhere, but is repetitive at the same time. Basically, the narrator travels with eccentric people to a new city, then crazy stuff happens there with crazy people, he runs out of money then gets some more, then he travels to another city with eccentric people, etc. I'm a litle more than half way through it and so far, my reaction is whats the big deal?, but we'll see once I finish it.

Leaving work in 10 minutes
