Sunburn Weekend

So my right shoulder has been tender to the touch for the last three days because of a nasty sunburn I got on Saturday/Sunday. I decided recently that the sun is not necessarily my friend and that I really should make an effort to apply sunblock more regularly so I don't end up all wrinkly and brown and skin-cancered when I'm older. Well, I thought about that and believed in that while I proceeded to be out in the sun from 1:30 - 9 pm on Saturday with just one layer of SPF 23 I put on at 2:30. So. Dumb. I don't know what I was thinking, but I can kind of blame it on not having any stronger sunblock - I'm going out to get some SPF 45 today! It also kind of sucks because I'm going to have a pretty fantastically uneven tan now. Not only are only my arms, and feet tan, but my right arm is much more tan than my left arm because I was standing in the sun facing the same way all day. I'm also sporting a HOTTTTTTT sunglasses tan.

Anyways, onto the reasons why I was outside so much on Saturday and Sunday. First of all, the weather was gorgeous this weekend, so why not be outside. On Saturday I went to the all-day concert that started at 11:30, and the first band I wanted to see was at 12. I was pretty excited to see OK Go because of various reasons, only one of which being that they play some pretty good music. The others being the awesomeness of their music video for A Million Ways, and four girls from my church's re-enactment of their music vidoeo - which is priceless. They were really funny and sang some songs I knew, and then at the end they actually got in the middle of the stage and did the dance from their music video to a taped version of their song. It was aweeeesome. So coooooooooooool.

Too bad I didn't get to see it.

That's right, I suck at life and didn't get to see the one band I probabaly wanted to see the most of the 24 bands that were at the concert. We left for the concert with enough time to make their set, but the geniuses at the venue made this roundabout way to get to the parking lot and it took 45 minutes to park. Unfortunately, their set was only 25 minutes long. That stank a big one. We just had to sit in the car, inching along. I only know what their set consisted of because I read a review of the concert in the paper - which only made me sadder/madder that I missed it. Ah well, at least I got to see a bunch of other random bands. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were kind of crazy - that Karen O is a little cookoo. And Franz Ferdinand, what a bunch of cute British boys! Seriously, I formed a little crush on the drummer, guitarist, and singer because they were just so cute, and they were a lot of fun. I'm going to check out more from The Sounds and Hard Fi.

On Sunday, I was bad and went to a Giants game instead of church. My friend called with free seats behind home plate!!! They were 26 rows up, but they still rocked. We had like 5 foul balls almost come our way, but never close enough. I was once again sun-stupid and didn't put on sunblock because it was cloudy and overcast in San Francisco. Duh, doesn't mean you still won't get sunburnt genius. So I burned my arms a little more on Sunday. Also, the Giants lost because Tim Worrell gave up a grand slam in the 8th while they were leading 5-3. Not cool.

I'm going to the beach on Saturday, and you bet your booty I'll be slathering on the SPF.
