Ugh...I think excess amounts of avocado makes me sick.

I had avocado in my sandwich today and I totally felt sick afterwards. My stomach was not happy - and the same exact thing happened on Saturday night when I had avocado in my salad. I think something is amiss. I'll be staying away from avocados for awhile I think.

I had a fun weekend, filled with high school friends, soccer, and Father's Day. On Friday night I went out with Jon, Gordon, and Carmen to a bar/pub in downtown Sunnyvale (aka one block), and then we went to a comedy club in Sunnyvale...that I didn't know existed...called Rooster T. Feathers. The three comedians we saw were pretty funny, and we knew one of the waitresses so we got free food and drinks! Awesome. Also, I saw a couple of girls I played sports with in high school randomly at the club. Very, very weird and awkward - its been more than five years or more since I've seen any of them...we definitely didn't say hi. Despite being on the field hockey team or the softball team together and getting along as teammates, lets just say we had different interests back them, aka them - drinking and partying, me - not. After the Comedy club, we decided to grab some beers and go to a Karaoke place, and proceeded to sing random songs for almost two hours. I forget how fun Karaoke can be - for a Korean, I've seriously been Karaoke-ing a disgracefully small amount of times.

On Saturday, I ran a couple of errands and then went to Santa Cruz with Carmen and Gordon. We went to Pleasure Pizza first (yummmm) and then we went to the beach for some sunning, swimming, and catch. And then of course the beach gets topped off with a trip to Maryanne's for some delicious ice cream. I love summer - even though the beach can only be a weekend activity now.

On Sunday I was able to watch the first 15 minutes of the 12:00 Korea vs. France World Cup game, and then I had to go to church (which I was 15 minutes late for). After service, my cousin and I went to a restaurant to watch the last 20 minutes of the game. So we got to see France's goal, and then we got to see Korea's awesome game-tying goal. And eat some chicken wings at the same time. The funniest part about the whole thing is that we went back to church after we finished watching the end of the game, and the Korean service (aka all the adults) was still going on. The English service at 12:15 is right before the Korean serivice at 1:30, so all the adults were able to watch most of the game and then they had to miss the last 30 minutes or so. So I'm sure they were all sitting in service, just wondering what the outcome of the game was. Well apparently right before the Pastor gave his sermon, one of the elderly members of the church walked up to him and whispered something in his ear. The pastor turned to the congregation and told them the outcome of the game, Korea won 2 - 1!!! People cheered.

Too bad when they all walked outside the sanctuary we had to break the news to them that Korea had not, in fact, won the game - but tied France, 1 - 1. It was pretty frikin' funny. I'm still not sure where the communication got mixed up, but it caused about 150 adults to be really really happy for about 30 minutes.

And yesterday was Father's Day. My Dad's pretty low key so I just got him some random stuff. We enjoyed some wine and pie as a shrunken family, it was delish.
