I don't deny that they drive me crazy

But how can you not love faces like these?

My favorite class from last term: Mark, Sammy, James, Peter, Noel, Erica, and Yoo-Sun. They were all really smart and cute and pretty well-behaved.

These were taken on the last day of the term, when all the classes have snack parties with a ridiculous amount of Korean snacks that the kids bring and drinks that the teachers bring. Mark wants some more orange Fanta (or Hwan-ta as the kids call it...no "f" in the Korean language). "Teacher! more! Hwanta more!"

Mark is pretty much the funniest little kid ever. He's a little chubby and short, with at least one tooth missing at all times, and a fantastic lisp. He's got these thick bottle cap glasses, wears his cell phone around his neck, and he wore the same sweatshirt everyday for the first month of class. It said "RELAX" in big block letters across the front. Fantastic.

Ah the job. At this point, a new 3-month term has just started so I have new students, but I'm leaving in the middle of the term so I'm basically just counting down the days. Teaching this past year has been overall a good experience and I've learned a lot about working with kids and actually a lot about the English language...but I'm looking forward to finishing up the year.

though I have to say, I will miss the little pieces of random shrimp chip or biscuit, offered up so selflessly from the sweaty, grimy little fists of my students. yummm
