I'm sitting on my bed in my little studio in Seoul and according to the clock on my wall, it's 2:40 am on June 25th, 2008.
It's my birthday, y'alls.
Even though the PST clock on my computer still says 10:40 am on the 24th, it's a good way to stretch the birthday an extra day! Holy moly, it's my second birthday in Korea.
The geeky kid in me is showing it's still alive and well because I'm geekily excited that I'm turning 25 on the 25th, it's my "Golden birthday", I'm a quarter of a century old! I remember being a kid and thinking ahead to this birthday with anticipation. 25 on the 25th! And 25 is such a nice, round number (yes I know, it's not an even number but it's still "round").
At the same time, 25 is a scary, scary number. I'm no longer in my early 20's, but literally mid-20's. I'm 5 years from 30. I know (at least I hope) that a lot of things personally and professionally are going to happen in the next five years, so that's also scary/exciting.
Birthday plans include going to lunch with two of my favorite cousins, Jae Un and Secret James Noh, teaching the kids, and then going to dinner with a couple of friends. This past weekend I went out for dinner and drinks/dancing with friends and this coming weekend I'm going to Seoraksan (famous Korean mountains) with some family. Good times.
And of course, gotta wish a happy birthday to my Birthday Buddy, Sarah Fo!!! 25!! Duuude.
